I work for a medical supply company (which I could post so many more issues about but this one just irked me).
After years of looking and putting it off my husband and I finally got a pup and named him Goku.
He’s a rescue with heart worms and separation anxiety especially from my husband.
Still working from home and this subreddit has made me realize I needed to put my life first instead of a crummy company that doesn’t give 2 shits about me. He will always come first.
We’ve been working from home since Covid making it work but next week there’s a training I need to be a part of in office. Which no big deal I don’t mind. My husband works from home mainly so someone is always home with the dog.
But now he has a work trip spring up he’s gotta go. So I asked if I can do half day in office half day from home because dog has meds and can’t be boarded because of heartworm. We live 40 minutes from the office so I can’t run home let him out.
They are asking me to find a place that will take him for the first 3 days because it’s important that I’m there. Our vet or find a place that will just kennel him.
It just seems cruel to put our shelter dog whose just finally found normalcy that has anxiety (he’s on traz for) who still hasn’t been cleared of heart worms yet and take him to some random doggy daycare and put him in a kennel for the day.
My boss said obviously if we can’t board him they’re not gonna tell me to kick my dog to the curb but they want us to find an option. My friends have all told me to tell them to shit in a hat.
There are many reasons why I’m getting close to putting in my resignation but make me chose between my dog and my job I’m going to take the dog Goku the Royal Loaf
