I recently got a promotion at work, jumping about 3 levels higher up. Part of my responsibilities is managing my old team so I guess I’m now kind of middle management?
I don’t know if maybe my clients are easing me into things as I’m pretty young (youngest to have ever been in my position) but I find myself sitting and staring at my screen doing nothing for like 25% of the day whilst getting paid twice as much as the members of my team. I’ve tried helping out with my team’s workload, but my manager has pulled me up a couple of times saying they need to learn to cope without me (she’s one of the loveliest women I know btw, no resentment there).
I know this is a win for me, but I can’t help feeling super bad that my team work so much harder than me and I get paid way more. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to try and help be an advocate for my team?
