They won't pay her what she's worth
She's award admin for a mental health unit (NHS UK) and on a band 2 she's been promised a raise to 3 for over 3 years. She is stressed beyond vwords having to work in reception (they have receptionist team) and basically does get job plus half the medical secretary tasks as well as having to pick up the slack from the lazy receptionist
Who is on most days.
She's got a round trip of 64 miles to and from work everyday and its not just her health but financial security being hurt by the rise in living here.
She recently took a holiday went back still looking for work elsewhere. To find 1 year ago her trust made it a trust wide policy that all admin staff are on band 3, she is the ONLY ONE NOT ON IT and she says it feels like they are holding it hostage by trying to force her to work weekends (she's salary so no overtime just time off in lieu). And maybe to do cover in York which is over an hour's drive for her.
They all say how much they rely on her but don't back her
t up or pay her like everyone else but are begging her to not leave as it falls apart if she's not there. (They even had her work in office during the worst of the pandemic despite her, like me being immune compromised due to health issues, as they didn't want to have someone else do the filing
She's found a job that she's qualified for in the local hospital for the same money, but only 2 miles from where we live. I told her go for it and fuck her current job it's been nothing but a source of despair for years and turned her into a Karen with the constant stress.
Mainly just venting but hoping she gets this other job, it will save her £25 aweek in petrol costs
