My sister’s paychecks are being withheld bc her medical paperwork is about to be out of compliance (not yet). She’s a home health care aid to my disabled diabetic mother. She has rent and bills to pay and they are withholding her checks for no reason.

Her medical paperwork isn’t even due until August 31st, yet they’ve withheld 2 checks so far and will continue doing so until her medicals are updated. She is sick right now (tested negative for Covid) and her doctor isn’t letting her get come by until a week after her symptoms disappear, so she’s gotta wait until Wednesday to even get her drug test. The drug test will take several days for the results to come back. So she’s going to be without a paycheck for a while.

Is this legal? They shouldn’t be withholding her paychecks if her medical paperwork isn’t out of compliance yet. How can we get them to pay her the paychecks that are owed?

She’s a single mother and main caretaker to my disabled mom. She has rent and bills to pay.

Edit: she tested again and now she’s positive for Covid. The hits keep on coming.
