Antiwork

My stepfather was present for a pretty horrific death today at work and he was told to call in tomorrow morning to see if they would be working or not…. This can’t be real life.

My stepfather works at a factory that makes things like munitions and blasting caps. Today a young man, fairly new at the job, went into one of the bunkers that stores powder and he didn’t come back out again. There was a huge explosion (mostly contained in the bunker). The guy was just…. in pieces. A number of employees ran to see what happened after the huge boom, yeah they seen that. Took them all awhile to call the emergency service/ambulance, they were all in shock. They knew he was dead. Management kept everyone at work, I’m not sure if they made them continue working or just shuffled them into a break room for hours after it happened. My stepfather is still in shock and isn’t saying much. They told him to call in the morning to see if he had to work tomorrow. The whole thing is just really…

The whole thing is just really fucked up.
