My student loans will force me to work

For my one year at KU, my loan was $17,532.00. I started paying it back in 2012 with no help on lowering the payment amount or anything from the lender (which has been sold to other lenders three separate times). So ballpark, I’ve paid over $30,000 on this loan since then. Guess what I owe still? $20,246.31. The system is a fucking joke and needs to be redone. My estimated pay off date is 2034. I’ve almost paid back my loan twice over and still owe more than the original amount. It’s a predatory system that needs change badly. Mine is also a private loan that was originally from Chase student lending (that doesn’t exist anymore).
