I submit my time sheets on Monday for the week prior, all filled out, for my supervisor to sign and submit. Today she accused me of leaving early one day last week and writing in that I stayed until the end of the day. What’s weird is that I hadn’t even gotten the chance to bring her my time sheet yet – regardless of the fact that I didn’t do what she accused me of. In fact, I had proof in the form of an email. To her. Sent two minutes prior to the very end of the day, and I don’t have access to my email from anywhere else aside from the office, not even my phone.
Now, this isn’t totally relevant information, but I figured I’d share – I have PTSD from a very abusive situation I was in many years ago that left me terrified to be in a position where I’m accused of being dishonest. Her accusation triggered a panic attack, which I rode out alone in my office.
Anyway, I emailed her the proof of me still being in the building at the time I was accused of having left, and when she didn’t reply, I walked down there, trembling with my watch telling me that my heart rate was too damn high, and asked her to please acknowledge my email. She did. But instead of apologizing, she kept repeating over and over again that “there are eyes everywhere.”
I’m just so upset and confused by her accusation and reaction that I’m looking for a new job as we speak – which sucks, because I love my job. But no one deserves to be treated that way, and EVERYONE deserves an apology for a false accusation. Fuck her.
