My supervisor made up a story and wrote me up with it

My store manager's name is Jim. He's a shithead, nobody likes him. When two people are having a conversation while working (we do logistics for a hardware store) he descends upon us with “stop talking and start working,” even though we're working all the time. The other day, my supervisor was in a foul mood and heard me and a coworker talking while we worked. She got onto us for talking “instead” of working, and I jokingly responded with “ok Jim.” Then we continued working, nothing was said past that point. Today I was written up for insubordination. The report says that after I said “ok Jim,” I continued to be belligerent and argue. Which is a blatant lie, this never happened. I don't have to patience or energy to argue over something so small.

It then went on to say that the work I did was inaccurate, which I have no reason to believe because I did it exactly as I was trained to, and inaccuracy hasn't been a problem in the past.

The assistant store manager backed up her story. Prior to this I liked them both and thought they were relatively trustworthy, but I see that isn't the case.

I don't care about the write up. It's a piece of paper. This is a temporary job for me, so I have no reason to care. It's the principle that I have a problem with. If they wrote me up for saying “ok Jim,” whatever, Jim's a shithead so, while I think it's a little overly sensitive, I get it. But they lied on me, claimed I did something I didn't, in order to “give the report more substance” as another manager put it.

Fuck that place.
