I am a contract worker for a computer repair company. They do not allow us to have our phones at work due to “cyber security reasons”. During orientation they give us a number a family member can call incase of an emergency. Today while I was working my wife had to go to the ER due pregnancy complications (she's fine and so Is the baby). My mother and her called the number I was given 4 times with no answer. I did not learn of what was going on until lunch time.
Is there any legal recourse or laws that I should be made aware of incase something like this happens again? I live in Texas.
