Middle managers are usually the worst. If I've learned anything it's to get things in writing or on recording because they usually lie whenever it suits them.
My wife got a job that has insurance benefits after 90 days. 194 days later, still no insurance. After a lot of pestering they were told that the company was getting new insurance so you shouldn't bother signing up for the current plan. That was at 104 days. They made it sound like itd be a few weeks, not months.
Now, the manager insists she never “told you not to sign up for insurance” when that is what was heavily implied.
There have been other forms of retaliation, they changed the dress code specifically to target them. They moved them to the side of the office that handles sick patients, and also have a phone right behind that area that constantly rings and never gets answered, which my wife had asked previously to be unplugged because it's pointless, now it's right there in their ear.
