I’m very angry about his and I’m ready to blow my top writing this. My wife just recently became a nurse practitioner and was accepted into a residency program straight out of school. The company that took her in has a fixed salary and absolutely no overtime. They are making her work double shifts and refuse to grant her any days off even though she is entitled to 2 weeks vacation and sick days but her HR department keeps denying her requests to even take a single day off just to see a doctor or get her car fixed. She doesn’t ever have time to eat at work and she lost weight nor does she have time to use the bathroom. They have her traveling to different locations during the day and they’re 45 minutes apart. She comes home crying because of 14 hour shifts and still being forced to chart until 1AM. All of these hours and she’s not getting compensated for it. The worst part is that she wants to quit but in the contract it states that if she voluntarily resigns she will be fined 10 fucking grand. Combined we make about 90k after taxes and have rent to pay and other expenses. These pieces of shit are only denying HER days off yet approving everyone else.
