I live in Tennessee, USA and work in an injection molding facility. I remember hearing a while back that they were claiming to offer no compensation for Covid leave, but thought they were just skinning teeth. Fast forward to yesterday, I called out due to sickness, took an at-home Covid test and it turned out positive. I let my supervisor know, and he responded saying that we get 5 days off, completely unpaid. I asked him about the federal and state acts that are supposed to prevent that, and now he says he's waiting on a response from the HR department. I don't want to be “that guy,” but I'm not about to lose half a paycheck that I use to survive and function just because I got unknowingly sick. I'm quarantining of course, and I'll take whatever time off I can get, but this doesn't seem right, does it?
