English is not my first language so, I’m really sorry for any mistakes and incoherence. I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but I really need to vent on what’s happening
I’ve been working at a convenience store for almost 2 years now and the only thing I had to complain at the start was my shift (2pm-10pm, 3 days off per month). I always asked my manager if I could take my 1 hour break (my contract says it’s my right) and he always comes with excused, so I never had a break.
My boss is lazy, there’s no other way to describe her, and she calls me all the time to her office (she works on the second floor) for me to help her send an email, or post something on instagram (I know it’s ridiculous) or to get her a bottle of water and the worst part is: she never refills her own bottles, so I have to. And she complains if I forget to.
Around two months ago I asked my boss if she could make a deal with me, pay everything she owed me (as if she’s firing me) and I would give her part of the money back (because I would still work for her, I just needed the money). She said “yes, of course” but never did it. I just let it go and accepted she wouldn’t, like it’s her right.
The thing is: I have a coworker that works the morning shift, we do the same job, have the same salary but she doesn’t do half the work I have to and even works an hour less than me everyday (my manager said that to me). Thing is: our payment isn’t per hours, it’s a salary and a salary only.
I have another job in sight that will be available in december and I’m really looking forward to it. I’d work 1pm-6pm (I already have a part time job in the morning) and wouldn’t work sundays and holidays.
I’m really overworked and stressed, past week I went to the hospital due to stomach pain and headache and didn’t work that day and now my last day off of october will have to be taken in november (manager even said “I should rip your medical certificate so it would count as a day off”)
These things used to be very small, I wouldn’t pay them much attention but I once said to my manager that I was really tired (almost two weeks with no day off) and his response was “what, you don’t like it? Jump in front of a train or off a bridge. That will solve your problems”
