My workplace told me we had to come in on the bank holidays but gave us a two day notice of that

They give us a 2 day notice on this but when we want to take our paid leave that we’re entitled to we need to give them a week notice. Worst part is I asked if I come in on Thursday can I use my day in lieu for Monday so I’d have Friday to Monday off and they decline it with the reason being “too short notice”. Assholes
