Oh man, I am overjoyed right now! Honestly just bursting with excitement, happiness, and hope. My absolute AH of a boss just came in a told me he's leaving the company and heading to bigger and better opportunities. I couldn't even pretend to be sad, this guy has made my life a living hell since I started in October of last year. A month ago I discussed these issues, along with actual proof of his terrible management compounded by the fact his last associate had an actual mental breakdown before quitting, with another one of my bosses and eventually the president of the company. They. Actually. Took. It. Seriously. They talked to him and let him know he needed to be more present and actually manage me instead of passively talking at me. What did he do? Never said one thing to me personally and started looking for a new job. Man, I couldn't stop smiling. It's a good day, folks, and the first time in a while that I have felt like I could breathe at work. Just wanted to share my excitement and experience that *sometimes* talking to your company works, definitely, definitely not always. But, on the off chance you hate your job and want to move on, at least talking first might work. I have loved everything about the company EXCEPT him and now he's gone. I was in the process of updating my resume and finding a new job because of this guy, and now I can stay.
