My manager told me before i left today that i won’t able to requests weekends off anymore and that if i do, i probably won’t get them off unless its life or death. The reason? Because my managers don’t want to have to come out and help my other associates when we’re busy on weekends, and they don’t feel anyone else is strong enough to hold things down without a manager. Now I am a lead, and I know my job in customer service requires me to be able to work weekends, but I don’t think it’s fair to push every single weekend for the rest of ?? forever on one single person. I know how they communicate and I’m worried i might be made to feel like I’m in the wrong for wanting my personal time off respected (which should be normal) so I’m worried and anxious about bringing this up. I am willing to give up my position as a lead (which gives me a dollar more than the standard position) if it means i can request weekends off again. Any advice on how to approach this conversation is appreciated!!
