That’s basically it. Got a group wide text among all my coworkers today saying we would be made to pay off tabs that go unpaid and we don’t hold onto the cards for. I work for a bar in Oregon and haven’t accidentally left a tab open like this before. There are definitely regulars that get a lot of grace period to leave an open tab and come close it later because we know they’ll be back, but in some cases I’ve held onto ID’s and let someone use Apple Pay when closing out so the potential could be there if someone decided to leave their id or forgot to close out before leaving. Is this legal?
I will likely delete this thread if I get enough info, I’m more than a little annoyed with this policy.
