I just walked out mid-interview for the first time in my adult life. I am in my thirties, graduating with honors, Dean's list, top of my class etc. I applied for a 6 figure job in my related field that I am more than qualified for. I was one of 5 people they selected to interview. Midway through the interview they decided to change what position they wanted to hire me for. I stated that since this was no longer the original position I can assume that compensation has changed as well. $15 plus bonuses. Said I'm not wasting either one of our time and logged off. This must be the 20th interview I've had this summer that has been completely fruitless. I've gotten down to the final 3 applicants and am always beaten out. I want to start my own company but need start up capital and I just keep getting fucked. What the hell is the point of all this.
