Hi all, sadly, I was recently harrassed at my work place by upper management. I won't bore you with the details here, happy to provide via DM if that's helpful to anyone. Let's just say though I was invigilated, micromanged, and assurances were not honored by the employer.
I am looking into legal action on the above, but in the meantime I find myself extremely stressed by this whole situation. I am stressed, anxious, depressed; developed stomach pains and lost weight. I would like to take stress leave before I go crazy. This would provide me time off that is paid and a shield from further employer harrassment.
In my country (I'm not American) I do that with the government work employment program. I have to see a doctor and fill in a bunch of forms where I describe my condition.
My concern is that the gov body comes back with something like “this is normal work-related stress.”
Therefore, here is my question: How do I describe the above in a way that would reduce the risk of the gov agency undermining what happened to me? Let's assume the doctors in my country don't give a shit and will just copy what I put on my form, so it's on me to do this right.
I was thinking to not using words like 'stress', but talk about 'adjustment disorder' cause by work, also focus on the physical stuff like stomach pain, lack of sleep, and perhaps anxiety attacks.
Any help with this, especially from someone who was successful in obtaining long term stress leave, will be greatly appreciated.
