Hello everyone I have just started working for a company and I have been there for just under 3 weeks. I am running TikTok campaigns for an overseas company. I have been working in Social Media and Marketing for around 10 years. TikTok is new for me from a business standpoint. So far in 3 weeks they had 2 account managers quit, and one dropped out do to family issues. This job pays an ok base per month but no insurance, I am a 1099 employee. This week I had a showcase going over what I learned about TikTok and creators I like. Today was also my bi-monthly check-in with my manager. During the check-in she said we enjoy your energy however there were some concerns.
- There were some spelling errors in my presentation which can reflect poorly on the brands I work with. (it was a peer presentation, so only some team members were there)
- She said my account manager seemed like she knew more about what's going on with my campaigns which today I did not have time to prep for campaigns due to the showcase presentation.
- Based on that info she felt uncomfortable with giving me more campaigns and not sure about my performance because the Campaigns did not seem that “hard”
- My attention to detail needs some improvement.
She said that I should not need a lot of hand holding after 3 weeks however I feel this feedback was arbitrary and only focusing on today rather than the past 3 weeks. I let her know I would work on these things, and come up with a game plan. I also checked in with my teammates and they said I am easy to work with and are happy with my performance. It almost sounds like they want to let me go because of these few things that can be fixed, I have only gotten half a check from them so far so I have not been as ready to go full on out. Should I work on these things and collect my paycheck? Or cut my losses? I have already been taking interviews with other companies and I have an awesome one set up today with a big company, a more low key role. Also how could I better handle negative feedback?
