Nepotism screws me over

Not sure if this post fits antiwork but here goes. Took a new job closer to home. I had a good job, but the new job offered a shorter commute, more money, and less responsibility. I get hired and they have someone “who's pretty good with computers” help me start to get acclimated. Third day CFO comes to me asks me to take over a project because he needs that person showing me how to navigate the new company. I see they have 2 internet connections from the same company that begins with a V. Knowing a redundant line is worthless if it comes from the same company I ask questions. I get told the owner doesn't want the employees streaming music and sharing the same network as the business data network. I say oh that's easily solved. You segment that employee traffic so it doesn't touch the data network.…

You segment that employee traffic so it doesn't touch the data network. I pretty much dismissed the notion because I knew what i was saying was true. Then I explain that 2 lines from the same company is not good and we should explore another source of internet. I suggest a company that begins with X and am told by my guide that they used to have that company but the service really suffered when the pandemic hit and everybody stayed home. I said it sounds like you were on residential account. I spoke to a rep who assured us we would be getting a business only line. An hour later I see this person walking around in the parking lot smoking cigarettes and talking on the phone for about 20 minutes. Pacing back and forth. As I'm working at my desk I'm looking through the employee list and I see that the person that's “helping” me and the owner have the same last name. 2 hours later I get called into the owner's office. I get told I'm being let go because the person that's supposed to be helping me get acclimated is spending too much time with me. Driving home I realize the relative must have been on the phone with the owner. So now I'm SOL for a job.
