Nepotism wins once again

Well folks. I’ve come to slap another story onto the pile. I’m a dance teacher and I’ve been teaching for this company for 5 years now. I also grew up as a student of this particular company, so I know the owner very well. Typically with dance you start out teaching the little kids, and then you work your way up into being given the older/more competitive classes. I work with children outside of dance so I’m happy to teach the young classes, but I have always wanted the chance to see my work on stage at a competition. I have expressed this to the studio owner for a few years now, and this year she told me I’d likely be getting a solo to teach. Anyways – tonight I just found out that her niece (who does not teach at the studio but was a former student alongside myself)…

I can’t quit on all these kids mid-season but this will certainly be my last year teaching here.
