The IT director just told me that a task I was given by my IT Support manager and my old manager (now manager of Data Services) had a $10,000 budget for ERP support to complete that task and it should never have been given to me.
I told him I'd be happy to take the $10,000 (I'll likely see nothing for it but I'm going to have a meeting with my manager Monday to try anyway because I deserve to be compensated)
The task took me like literally 20ish hours plus over like 4 weeks, and I was told I was being asked to do it because the new hire for Data Services is too green and my old manager didn't have the time to dedicate…
Never accept a task outside of your normal work duties without compensation. I've learned the hard way.
