Never went back.

I used to work as a designer, photographer, and professional retoucher for businesses. I quit after a job where we were told that “at least we didn't have to work at McDonald's.” When there were no raises in sight. I made $15 per hour. Then also found out they were editing my time card to show fewer hours. Since then, I have refused to work formally for any business because I can't find anything that pays well enough to offset the price of -decent- childcare. I am now a full-time stay at home mom because it's less stress to not work and stretch our funds to the extreme than to even try to work and bring home a tiny bit extra money. My husband makes just enough that we can get by on it. Found out recently that I can charge $30-$60 per hour freelance for my experience level. So,…

Since then, I have refused to work formally for any business because I can't find anything that pays well enough to offset the price of -decent- childcare.

I am now a full-time stay at home mom because it's less stress to not work and stretch our funds to the extreme than to even try to work and bring home a tiny bit extra money. My husband makes just enough that we can get by on it.

Found out recently that I can charge $30-$60 per hour freelance for my experience level. So, instead of looking for jobs I am getting my freelance business going and planning my first art exhibition while I am home with my daughter.
