Vent warning. I work for a company that has been fully remote since covid. I’ve loved it. I get my work done but since I’m home, I get to do laundry, walk my dog, whatever. As long as I get my work done I’ve never worried about how else I spend my time.
We were recently informed that our employer is installing ActivTrak on all of our computers. I’m flabbergasted. I know there’s a few people they’ve had problems with, but why not settle it with those employees? How does anyone in HR think this is a good idea, to micromanage employees down to the key stroke and screenshot of activity? It’s not a security worry, they admitted it’s to see how much work is actually being done. If that doesn’t ruin morale I don’t know what would.
Anyone have experience with companies who have done this? How quickly should I be updating my resume
