I’ve been working at this organization for over 9 months now. My contract mentioned that my probation period will be 3 months and after 12 months of service I’ll be eligible to enrol into the company benefits plan. Ok I thought it all to be pretty standard.
Two months ago we had a new front desk admin/receptionist start working with us and yesterday she was asking me about the benefits plan. I was like I have no idea since I’ve not finished 12 months yet. She was surprised and said she reviewed an email to enrol for benefits. I was shocked.
Turns out that as per her contract she was on probation for only two months after which she’s eligible for company benefits. And here I am waiting for 1 whole year to pass before I become eligible!
I feel I should talk to someone about this. What should I say or how should I bring this up? We have no HR department though. Please help!
