I started my new job last week and I really over looked some red flags to start. Anyways the manager and person I worked with both got covid in my second week. I went to work wed really felling bad so I took a covid test at work and it turned up positive. The receptionist said it’s ok we all have been feeling kinda in the weather lately.I have high perseverance so I just went back and started my shift. Then let’s say the “lead man” came in and tested positive as well. This is a pretty busy business with people coming in/out regularly. By 12 o’clock I felt like I was going to pass out(this job is labor intense as is) so I asked “lead man” if he could find someone to finish my shift he said ok. He came back about an hr later and said the manager(that I got covid from and is at home sick)wants you to finish your shift. I walked off went home had a temp of 101.8 called the doctor got paxlovid and a inhaler. I’m pretty mad at the situation. I won’t be able to work for a week due to this. Also the manager has not respond to my texts/calls about me getting payed for the hrs I worked.I pray this won’t turn into a shit show but I wouldn’t be surprised… guys listen to your gut when starting a new job no matter how bad you need the money. I wish I had now I’m in a worst position financial/physically.
