New Job – How to Quit Old Job

Hey everyone! So I am getting a new job that’s remote WFH and a pay bump from where I currently am. I currently am at a corporate environment that I hate. They keep loading up my plate, which was fine at the time because I thought I would get a title promotion and raise. Reviews came around and I didn’t get either. They keep adding more and more to my plate which I’m over now. I have also recently had heath issues and couldn’t drive and my work has been throwing a big fit about me having working from home even though: 1.) they did it for 1.5 years during covid 2.) my doctor literally requested it since I can’t drive currently 3.) Hey everyone!

I have also recently had heath issues and couldn’t drive and my work has been throwing a big fit about me having working from home even though:

1.) they did it for 1.5 years during covid
2.) my doctor literally requested it since I can’t drive currently
3.) I am more efficient/get more done at home vs in office
4.) I’m literally having health issues everyday lol

In the meantime, I was job searching and found this new opportunity that I’m excited for! My question is, would it be acceptable to more or less return my computer this weekend to my work and tell them I won’t be back, get my stuff out of my office, and take a week off before my new job, or should I give the standard 1-2 week notice?

Also, I am switching industries so I don’t ever see myself going back/needing connections where I was.
