The restaurant I work in I was an hourly manager for a majority of my time there. I have since stepped down due to lack of wage increase from my manager team when my kitchen counter parts both received not one but two raises when I had management seniority above them both. I have stepped down and I now serve/ bartend however the two people they promoted in my place (yes they promoted two to fill my roll) both are terrible. They were clearly promoted out of necessity and not because they were ready. One is a narcissistic drug addict and he has yelled at me for attempting for going beyond my job title to help assist him when he was drowning. The other one disappears for 30 minutes intervals.
There lack of ability and complete disregard for this employees has resulted in countless long nights for me and my peers. They are so worried about saving their own labor and food cost I am expected to work twice as hard to provide my guest with good experience. It’s so sad to see I place I enjoyed working ticking like a bomb ready to implode because they refused to pay me a livable wage. Now we have terrible managers that force me to suffer. I’m so excited to give my notice if I even decide to do that.
