New manager cut my hours by 25% so I called out

I barely ever post on Reddit, but need somewhere to vent. I work at a chain optometrist store and we recently got a new manager who is extremely corporate. My particular position in the company is part time only and I went from having 22 hours a week to 17. My commute is 3 hours there and back because I take public transport and she's scheduled me for 4 hour shifts 3 (out of 4) days a week. I also get low blood sugar and told her I need at least 5.5 hours and a 30 minute lunch to make the commute worth it and to not pass out on the way home, but she basically dodged all my questions about getting my hours back and basically told me to go fuck myself in polite terms. She essentially tried to make it seem like the hours were out of her…

She essentially tried to make it seem like the hours were out of her control (as if she doesn't make the schedule lmao). She also suggested I could have snacks I bring from home on my 10 minute break and that that should hold me over. When I brought up the fact that often times I don't even get my full hours scheduled because I do closing shift and every manager I close with wants to leave as early as possible she said there's nothing she could do and if there's nothing else to do in the store then it's not like they're obligated to stay. I'm sure for the managers who are guaranteed full-time hours, benefits, overtime, and commissions it doesn't seem like a huge deal, but leaving 15-25 minutes early everyday 4 days a week means 1-2 hours less pay for me. I usually wouldn't mind leaving early when I had 5.5 hours, but now it's like I'm barely able to scrounge together anything or have any sort of energy/motivation. I have two other coworkers who work the same position and one of them was forced to quit because her hours were cut so severely that it wasn't worth it for her. I'm just so mentally and emotionally exhausted and I decided to call in sick because I can't deal with all these changes and I know it's gonna get worse. She even got on me about texting to call out (despite me saying I had severe vomiting and couldn't handle a phone call at the moment) and said it's “not a professional way of calling out.” Whatever. I'm so sick of this job and I'm just going to wait until I can transfer somewhere else and quit or have them fire me.
