So last week we waved goodbye to our old crazy Office Manager and the Directors promoted the new guy.
His first communication to me? Throwing his weight around and say X is my responsibility now and So and So will be handing the work over.
This is before his promotion has even been announced to the Office, and while the old Manager is still in place.
Add on to the fact X was a Finance problem and my Job role is basically Payroll and Tech support, and he wanted it done during my busiest period? Haha no.
I politely explained it was not possible for me to take on more work at the moment and raised the point with one of the directors, who agreed my job role was too important to change.
Come this week, and I'm struggling to meet my deadlines due to the utter shitshow Payroll was last month with the change over of the database, and the new Manager has been messaging me daily about doing someone else's filing.
I mean, how to show you have complete disrespect for someone's work than to ask them to file for someone who is on holiday? He knows I have external deadlines to met, he knows I have had constant phone calls from employees and Managers thanks to the previous pay run. He knows I'm the only person in Payroll at the moment because we had 2 leavers and someone on holiday.
And he's trying to emotionally manipulate me by saying it would be nice for my colleague is there was no paperwork to file when she gets back.
What part of the Payroll crisis is so hard to understand? Is he just throwing his weight around and trying to bully me because I didn't bow down in the first place?
Asking me once I would understand, asking me every fucking day, and asking for a status update on this most menial of tasks?
I'm so tired and angry about this situation. I'm already job hunting
