Soooo I work in a corporate job as a ~lowly~ independent contractor. We recently got a new boss from another department who I'm sure is overwhelmed with tasks but …she just never replies to me. Like even when I ask questions or do extra work she's asked me to do.
The other day she took several days plus the weekend to respond with one word that didn't help me clarify my (normal, task related) message. Mostly she never replies at all. I'm trying to understand this work culture because I'm kinda new to this company but I… can't do my work if it's flat out ignored and I can't get any information about the work I'm doing if she doesn't answer lol.
I cannot understand how so many managers especially are so incompetent. Now I feel like if I follow up too much she'll just not renew my contract because I'm annoying her by wanting any response ever??? Just another reminder that competence and professionalism and hard work is rarely ever rewarded.
