New manager looking for some tips towards hiring

I know, I know, put down the pitchforks and listen please, I promise I’m not calling you into work on your only day off. I was hoping to get some advice from this sub on do’s and donts for hiring new staff and hopefully some good insight on how to not be this subs new top post in a month.
