New Timekeeping – So Work Unpaid

This is pretty minor overall, but still has me up in arms. I'm waiting for my momma, an employment law attorney, to confirm for me before I start going up the chain. At work they finally modernized timekeeping. Amazing! No more rounding; I'm paid what I actually work. I often clock in a few minutes early so I am ready to start on the dot (previously requested workflow by management, mind you). I work a few late as needed. It's nothing too crazy – the daily rounding ate most of it. Today there's an email from supervisors not to clock in before your assigned time. I replied for clarification saying either I clock in early or start work late – what does management prefer? Apparently we're supposed to get everything set up and ready for the day (5-10 min avg ) and THEN clock in. Middle management want wage theft…

I just forwarded the company-level email stating to pay employees what they work and not falsify timekeeping. Interested to see how that goes.
