I started working for a new place two months ago. It's an non profit and I really like the cause and I like my job (M&E manager), and the pay is pretty good. But the first thing I noticed was that most other employees were new too, about 8-4 months on the job, including the CEO. I assumed it's because the previous CEO retired and the new one decided to do some changes, which made sense, because she has a different point of view, and the new employees are highly professional and fit her new model. So I let it slide.
Then my direct supervisor left for maternity leave as well and I was transferred to the CSO's supervision. Then, a week later, he declared he is leaving. Also, HR team left a few months before my arrival and no one new was hired yet. This resulted in an absurd scenario in which I have 30 projects to work on, and not a soul to guide me or give me advice or anything. I'm not new to the profession itself, I've been a data analyst for 7 years now, so I can do my job, but these projects require specific experience with the field that I don't have. Other people are as lost as me, and a conversation I had with the CEO herself made me feel like I am truly alone. They signed on a lot of contracts, took tons of complicated high risk projects, handed those responsibilities to me, and left. This is ridiculous and even though I'm taking things in proportion and not investing more energy than I'm being paid for, I feel burnt out already.
