“Just get a better job.”
“Move somewhere cheaper.”
Why are we like this? Why do we as a society decide that no one deserves enough money to feed themselves, have a place to live that isn't in some open field or bog, or buy some basic supplies and clothes, and if they need these things, they should “just get a degree and get a better job” or some other bullshit? Which is also gatekept by people with money because I don't have the money to go to school even if I wanted to.
I have an ok job. They treat me well. But I don't make a living wage. So here I am wasting what little time I have left, taking some free classes to get into tech, to do something I have zero interest in, something I hate, for the money. So I can use that money to do what I need and love. Which is really just have a place to live, be able to feed myself, and spend time with the people I care about.
