I just had an interview for an “entry level” position in the library and info science field which I thought I was qualified for, given that I just got my masters degree and I’m looking for entry level work.
Nope! They actually want 1 year of experience, and the interviewer let me know that my student work experience (2 years) wasn’t sufficient and I’m “barely” qualified for the position! Also! They only pay $45k in DC (national average is $60k-$80k), AND the interviewer complained that he’s been having a really hard time filling this position because “no one wants to work” as I’m literally sitting there, wanting to work.
Like, it’s not that people don’t want to work, it’s that they don’t want to work for less than they’re worth!
