I've been actively job hunting for over a month after medical issues kept me out of work for 6 months. A lucrative job opportunity pops up, I submit my resume, they get back to me. They set up a phone interview for 9:40 this morning. I set up childcare for my toddler and take time out of my day to have this interview. 9:40 rolls around. Nothing. I start rechecking the email to see if I missed a link or something. Nothing. I waited for 30 minutes, no phone call.
In the meantime another, even more lucrative opportunity pops up. I fill out the resume crap (the ones where you have to submit a written resume and fill out the same information elsewhere, ugh). I notice that the job is for fall 2022 even though it only posted this morning. I write to ask if they are hiring for later in the fall or if they are looking ahead to spring. I get a reply of a single sentence, “This position is filled.” So WHY did they post the job this morning????? Why did I go through all that effort for literally nothing????
I'm so fed up with employers complaining while they continue to treat us like dog shit, especially during the hiring process. It's a fucking nightmare out here.
