So my job doesn’t give us any PTO. We’re given time off but other than that we’re screwed. We get two weeks off for July 4th where we lose out OT pay which is roughly 12hrs over the two weeks and for Xmas we’re given a week off but have to pay our own hours into if we want a 40hr check. We get holidays but aren’t allowed to take our own vacations or have sick days since we don’t get paid. We also don’t have benefits for it being a dangerous job. The guy I replaced cut his finger off to give perspective. We work 46-50 hour weeks and there’s roughly 30 people working there. I want to quit every single day.
Edit: we also don’t get bereavement time. Guy of 20+ years lost his mother and the boss wouldn’t pay him any bereavement time because he “doesn’t have to”
