No, you don’t have “good” insurance…

So many posts on Reddit go like this: “I have good insurance from my employer, and I still had to pay thousands out of pocket!” No, you DON'T have GOOD insurance! People paying hundreds of dollars a month in premiums, and thousands of dollars in duductibles and out-of-pocket maxes before their crappy employer insurance will even lift a finger have horrible insurance. It's a total scam that most people's insurance is linked to their employer, a system designed to keep us under their thumb, scared to quit or strike out on our own. Most people don't remember, but back in the day, say 1980s and 1990s, employers paid premiums and there were no deductibles. You went to the doctor or hospital when you needed to and that was it. Having an operation or a baby didn't cost as much as a house down payment. Most people don't have good insurance.…
