Nobody wants to hire anymore!

It's insane how long it takes to to get through the interview/hiring process with some companies. I recently had a preliminary interview with a large company for a management position. The in-house recruiter told me I was moving on to stage 2 of a “rigorous and multi-phased evaluation process” and updated my application on the website accordingly. That was 26 days ago. Another company changed my status to “Screening in Process” on April 12 but has not called me. Yet another I applied to changed my status to “Application reviewed, interview to be scheduled” on April 21. Still haven't gotten a call or email regarding that. And another called me on April 28th to schedule an interview with me…for May 18th. In previous roles, I acted as a hiring manager reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and notifying HR as to which candidates we wanted to send offers to. IT. DOES. NOT.…

In previous roles, I acted as a hiring manager reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and notifying HR as to which candidates we wanted to send offers to. IT. DOES. NOT. TAKE. THIS. LONG. You want to know why you can't hire anybody? It's because you sit on resumes, postpone interviews, and unnecessarily draw out the process, creating opportunities for candidates to get picked up by organizations who respect and value their time. Stop blaming the people who want to work and start hiring them!
