I've been in the nonprofit sector for 8 years and each org I worked for was exploitive, gaslighting piece of shit run by snakes.
The most recent I quit a month ago because it was run by the most incompetent person and her bestie (a passive aggressive, homophobic narc) who can't even use Microsoft Teams, their over involved board, lying on grants to make them seem more diverse than they were (including BIPOC folks that haven't even been officially hired yet, not even officially signed the offer letter wtf), microaggressions towards their token queer (me) and my partner, and putting the weight of a new program/translating document English-to-Spanish on a 23 y/o recent college grad.
Now I've been applying left and right and rent is next week and I have nothing yet. Just a string of interviews, one which hasn't even contacted me back when I confirmed my availability. I've been ghosted by 4 potential workplaces this month before even a phone screen could be done?
I'm too mad to be scared or really panic. This is just fucking insane and I needed some place to go.
