so i have CPTSD and got some really awful news that brought up a whole lot of memories. i went into work the next day, and i work at a doggy daycare. i was in the crazy room and was getting super overwhelmed to the point where the dogs were getting worked up from it. i don’t wanna yell at the dogs cus it’s not their fault and i’m sobbing in the room so i ask my coworker to go tell the boss that i’m leaving and he needs to call someone to cover my room. he starts by moving some dogs into another room but that’s not what i asked for. it’s really hard for me to set up a boundary like this so i was proud of myself when i double downed on it and said he NEEDS to call someone because i AM leaving. so my coworker comes back and takes me shift in the room and says j just have to help make dog lunches and stuff until the person boss called in shows up.
boss didn’t call anyone. i had to work the rest of the shift. he also said some shit like “the best way to get your mind off of personal shit is by working”
it hurts cus i really am a pushover. i stood up for myself ONCE and was ignored. i’m putting my 2 weeks in soon and moving on. anxious because i have never done it before (i’m 19) so if anyone has tips that would be great!
