Recently relocated & got a new job in my speciality in healthcare. For the first few weeks, everything seemed to be fine. Then about 3 weeks in I started hearing more and more about “voluntary time off.” Upper management thinks patient volumes haven’t been high enough to justify all of us full time techs being there full time.
I’m also currently house hunting and surprise- won’t get financing if I can’t prove my full time employment. I’ve made this known to upper management the first time I was approached about voluntary time off. I’ve now been at the new job 10 weeks and am tired of stressing out over how much time off I’m going to have to take a week and what my paychecks will look like. No one can give me an answer on what a good patient volume looks like & when the VTO would stop. Do I give it more time here or do I start looking elsewhere? In my area, job hopping is typically looked down upon during hiring but I also feel like I was lied to by this company when I took the job. Am I giving up too soon?
