Not sure and need advice

I had an interview yesterday at a pizza restaurant that had a massive “now hiring sign” out front. I have a few years experience cooking in pizza places so I figured with my experience I’d be able to get a little bit more pay, not an unreasonable amount but at least match my last jobs wage at $14.50/hr (Dunkin’). The manager says he can only do $13.00/hr which is barely above my states minimum wage, and after 30 days I might get bumped up to $13.50, but admitted there was no way he’d be able to do $14.50-$15.00 Am I wrong for thinking I deserve more given my experience? Again this is barely above minimum wage in my state, I have a bills to pay.
