I have a main 9-6pm job and I am usually free on weekends. So, from Monday to Friday, after work and dinner, i would usually deliver food with my bicycle if i'm not tired. And if i dont have any plans on weekends, i will deliver food during the weekends as well. (Sunday, i would only deliver till 2pm max and use the rest of the day to rest for Monday morning office work).
So basically, what happen was, the company of my main job got to know about it (not sure how as I didnt tell anyone at work), and HR called me to the office and told me to stop. If i dont, i will have to resign. My arguement was, i deliver food outside of the company working hours. After working hours, what i do is of no concern for the company as it is my personal time. To add on, i only deliver food for half a day on Sunday to rest for the next day of work for the main company. I have never caused the company problem as i am always punctual for work, and able to meet datelines. So, can anyone educate me as to why is having a second job a problem for a company?
