Voting for someone to become a representative for you should mean that you unequivocally approve of them, since you are literally giving them power over your life.
Not having anyone to vote for, one should not be forced to vote for “the lesser evil”. One should be able to vote for “none of the above” and that should spark a serious problem in the administration that the vote is done for.
For example, people keep complaining that nobody votes in my country (Romania) and blame the non voters for the state the country is in. And maybe the country could be in a slightly better state if more people voted but I seriously doubt it would make any long term difference.
Right now, less than 50% of people have voted in the last few elections. In my mind, this means that a majority of the people do not want the state. It should in all honesty be abolished and new elections should be made until enough people agree on a government to lead. Until then, how can a state govern the people when most people did not agree with it? It's imoral and basically illegal, imo.
In the same way, nobody asked me when I turned 18 whether I agreed or not with the society I was in. If I was ok with its workings, its leaders, etc. Why isn't there a more explicit consent agreement about it? Am I supposed to just accept a society I barely had any say in how it goes? It's also quite clear nobody fuckin knows anything because why else would we be in this shit in the first place?
