Hi! Just wanted to rant. I’m a nurse working in a small team. My line manager was promoted last year. She has been fine with me but at times she can micromanage. Nevertheless, that wasn’t an issue for me. I handed my resignation 2 months ago and since then she was being nasty. (note: we have a 3 months notice). She refused to give me my preferred annual leave days and basically replied, “she can’t because no one can cover you”. I had to move my remaining annual leave to accommodate the schedule she made. One of my colleagues told me I can go to HR as this is not allowed. No one can mandate you which day you should take for your leave. Anyway, my passive-aggressive self has let that go but she has been getting on my nerves lately. Even with a fixed schedule for everyone, she would frequently email me to swap with her so she can go on a clinic that’s not busy. She would always put me in the busy clinic and always say that she has things to do. Now, my immediate life support credential is expiring and I wanted to renew it. It’s still 1 month before I go. She replied to me that because I’m leaving, there’s no purpose.. also she checked the dates and there’s none available for me. Grrrrr! I’ve worked so hard since my time with them and I just cannot understand why do some managers get nasty and petty when you tell them you’re leaving?! Well pay me better then.
