Nursing is just not worth it

Are any other nurses making a career switch because nursing is just not worth it. I love taking care of people in vulnerable positions and it’s very rewarding but I have seriously developed chronic anxiety because of it. How many decades are we going to have a staff shortage issue before they start giving a fuck about healthcare workers. It’s just not worth it and the long 12 hr shifts and picking up more patients whenever we’re short. It all falls onto the nurses and they wonder why so many nurses are burnt out and why we’re always short. Not to mention I feel like shit when I call off because we’re always understaffed and it’ll fall onto the other nurses. I’m making an entire career switch before I die. I’ve gotten serious health issues because of nursing and I’ve landed in the hospital myself because of stress. Any other…
