Observations of management in organizations throughout my career

I was going to post to an industry specific board, but decided instead that its probably better-placed here, as these things are universal, I think. I would like to try stepping back: Considerations we try to make within our industry demand state-of-the-art procedures and documentation for constantly expanding spheres of influence, responsibility and complexity. Corporate response seems to be one of an ever-increasing list of demands to justify an increasingly crucial yet thin-spread resource pool with an ever-shrinking understanding. So, here's the spice: for real, wtf is your problem, “management” ? Why do you get to NEVER evolve? Why do you always expect us to fix the problems you have not yet thought of? Why are the problems that you have not yet thought of our fault when you did not even bother to ask what problems may arise from a given plan? Why does no one want to…

Why does no one want to work anymore?????

This question is so much more appropriate for management and entire industries than it is for employees.

Has anyone else noticed that the quickest way to make an enemy of an entity is to request that it do its effing job??

For real: ask anything of your bank. Ask anything of your insurance company. Ask anything of your union. Ask anything of politicians you elected with a vote rather than a bribe.

Who are these people that demand workers arrange their own schedules, lives and replacements to satisfy every last whim of the business? Who are these people who demand their employees give more consideration to the company than they are able to afford their own lives? I have met them, attempted to reason with them, and failed every time. I have had friends blow up at me because “Why TF do you need to work RN?! You are not a doctor; no one will die” at the same time my employer essentially threatens my life. I had no good answer for my friends or my employer. Looking back, I had no good answer for myself, either.

So, do any managers have anything to say for themselves? ….lol, just kidding. Of course they don't.

Fight!
